The challenge
Cutting through the noise
Capital deployment in Indian DeepTech ventures is still challenging, but the difficulty is no longer an access to deep tech problem. Nearly 500-600 DeepTech ventures get registered with the 1100+ incubation centers in the country annually. Cutting through the noise requires a strong thesis and a strong network. Mapping the right research and incubation partner for the right segment serves both the requirements - this is what we look for:
A partner is a node, not a logo
The right relationship joins distinct capabilities around a segment.
Research
Procedural knowledge
Incubation
Translation capacity
SilverX
Selective navigation
Policy
Market timing
Research and incubation network
Institutions across science, incubation, enterprise and technology infrastructure.

The signal problem
A large ecosystem creates more surface area. Thesis and network turn it into a tractable map.
Segment-specific partner map
fewer, better signals
The partnership lens
Five priorities for the right partner
The partnership lens
Five priorities that move from knowing a domain to shaping its conditions.
Domain Expertise
Opportunity mapper
Infrastructure
Crafting the gap between policy, innovation and demand
Mentorship and Thinktanks
Domain Expertise
DeepTech can never be truly amalgamated under one blanket term. Sector-specific programmes create some of the best early environments for a startup to grow. They have a good degree of continuity in focus areas and ecosystem building exercises. They help funds refine their investment opinions for their respective domains.
Opportunity mapper
Research institutions house PhDs and entrepreneurs working on solutions capable of transforming their respective industries. SilverX actively collaborates with institutions with procedural knowledge, identifies best-in-class innovation and does timely introductions in a selective manner. Connections and introductions become more personal, innovation access becomes decentralized.
Infrastructure
Access to the best labs, government funding options, mentors, research work is of utmost importance. The research to reality milestones being broken sequentially indicate a well performing research center.
Crafting the gap between policy, innovation and demand
Incubation and research centers sit in the middle of private capital, innovation and government support. Research partnership with the right stakeholders, beyond segment navigation, will help us time the market better.
Mentorship and Thinktanks
Research partnerships that extend into mentorship for portfolio companies, establishing think tanks and thought leadership alongside relevant partners will help SilverX to deal with the uncertainties and opportunities in deeptech investments more proactively.
Investor-in-residence
Contribution runs in both directions.
Partner context
Research, mentors, infrastructure
SilverX contribution

The SilverX approach
Investor-in-residence
SilverX follows an “investor-in-residence” approach while engaging with its incubation and research partners. The motive is to explore opportunities for collaboration beyond sharing investable opportunities, to enable a stronger ecosystem with several nodes of contribution both as an investor and as an advisor.
